Queridos socios y colaboradores, estas noticias llegan en tiempos extraños. Lo primero y más importante de todo, esperamos y deseamos que estéis todos bien.
Estos días estamos todos preocupados por lo que está suponiendo esta pandemia. Aquí, en nuestras propias casas, y allí, en nuestros países de acogida, Malawi y Kenia. Confiamos en que de esta situación salgamos reforzados como sociedad solidaria y consciente de la situación del mundo.
Desde Active África solo queríamos deciros que este año será diferente. Estamos en contacto permanente con nuestros amigos de allí: médicos, enfermeros, profesores y misioneros y, por supuesto, nadie puede decirnos cuáles serán las consecuencias para la población de estos países. Desde luego, no ayudan ni la situación de sus sistemas sanitarios, ni la malnutrición de muchos sectores de la población, ni la falta de medios para seguir normas higiénicas. Nada, no ayuda nada. Por dicho motivo, queremos estar preparadas para poder cubrir las emergencias que vayan surgiendo, ya sea enviando ayuda para cubrir o reforzar la alimentación de los más débiles, la compra de material sanitario, el envío urgente de medicinas, etc...
En este momento, nos parecen pocos los 20 pozos que hemos podido construir en la zona de Benga en los últimos tres años y para complementar el poder desinfectante del agua y el jabón, hemos querido sumarnos a la iniciativa de HAAN que ha puesto en marcha un proyecto para facilitar gel sanitario desinfectante a las zonas con riesgo de contagio más alto de la zona de Benga (Malawi). Cada gota cuenta.

These days we are all concerned about what this pandemic is entailing. Here, in our own homes, and there, in our host countries, Malawi and Kenya. We trust that we will emerge from this situation reinforced as a solidary society and aware of the world situation.
From Active Africa we just wanted to tell you that this year will be different. We are in permanent contact with our friends there: doctors, nurses, teachers and missionaries and, of course, no one can tell us what the consequences will be for the population of these countries. Of course, neither the situation of their health systems, nor the malnutrition of many sectors of the population, nor the lack of means to follow hygienic norms, help. Nothing, nothing helps. For this reason, we want to be prepared to be able to cover emergencies that arise, either by sending aid to cover or strengthen the diet of the weakest, the purchase of medical supplies, the urgent shipment of medicines, etc ...
At this time, the 20 wells that we have been able to build in the Benga area in the last three years seem few to us and to complement the disinfecting power of soap and water, we have wanted to join the HAAN initiative that has launched a project to provide sanitizing sanitizing gel to the areas with the highest risk of contagion in the Benga area (Malawi). Every drop counts.
